#GNOME is good enough even in recent netbook. I putted Ubuntu in one of a friend of mine and she's enthusiast! She loves how it looks and said that it reminds her of iPhone. Which in non geek community I think is a big compliment.

Ok, recent means a 250 euro netbook from almost 5 years ago. Let's be clear.
I would have liked also to make her try Xubuntu but gtk2 dependencies on the LTS made change my mind. No fixes? No install.
